FM holds phone call with Saudi counterpart to condemn Houthi attacks

Amman, Oct. 11 (Petra) – Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Ayman Safadi held a phone call on Sunday with Saudi Foreign Minister, His Highness Prince Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud.

During the call, Safadi affirmed Jordan’s condemnation of the terrorist attack carried out by the Houthi militia against King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh on Saturday, as well as its assaults on civilian and economic facilities in Saudi Arabia.

Safadi denounced these attacks as a flagrant violation of international law and a brutal aggression against the sovereignty, security, and stability of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, as well as the safety of its citizens and residents.

Safadi emphasized Jordan's "absolute" solidarity with Saudi Arabia and its "full" support for all measures taken to confront these attacks.

He conveyed Jordan’s condolences over the attack's victims on King Khalid International Airport, wishing the injured a speedy recovery.

In turn, Prince Faisal offered condolences over the death of the Jordanian citizen, who was killed in the aggression against the airport.

Safadi thanked the Saudi authorities for the comprehensive care provided to the Jordanian citizens injured in the Houthi militia's brutal attack on the airport.

Additionally, the two ministers discussed regional developments within the framework of ongoing bilateral coordination and consultation.
